These gum bichromate prints are printed from the same negatives.... The differences arise from the amount of pigment used in relation to the gum arabic + potassium dichromate mixture.
These prints are all approx. 4x4"
Each individual print is $350 matted
Each layer of color is laid down individually... The white dots outside the corner of the image are the registration marks used to line up each layer.

Each one is slightly different to allow varying degrees of pigment to be exposed for the image
Tools of the trade: gum arabic, potassium dichromate, watercolor pigment, a smooth brush, mortar & pestle, and protective gloves
The progression of each layer of color... Each successive color is exposed on top of the previous one.
